Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings Betting Tips 20/04/2022

Teams Status

Delhi Capitals

As stated above, Marsh is out indefinitely. While the Aussie’s absence would be a loss for any side in the world, he had played just one match in the IPL so far this season so it’s not like that the team was reliant on him or something. It is still a loss but one Delhi can live with for a bit at the very least.

The Capitals would have, of course, wanted all the help available, especially after their poor start to the season that sees them among the bottom three on the points table.

The defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last game was their third defeat of their last four matches.

That defeat was the result of a poor second half of bowling after an impressive start. They had Bangalore pinned at 92 for 5 at one point before Dinesh Karthik went berserk and helped Bangalore to 189 for 5.

In reply, Delhi had a flying start but lost way after David Warner left. It can be argued that the middle and lower order did not pull their weight.

Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings were thought of as a powerhouse of a team prior to the start of the season but they’ve struggled for consistency, alternating between wins and defeats.

Six matches in, they have yet to string together a pair of consecutive victories, which is a shame for a team that packs the amount of talent they have.

Their latest defeat was to Sunrisers Hyderabad, against whom they mustered a meager total of 151, which was never going to be enough and it didn’t.

That game notwithstanding, they have generally done well with the bat. It’s the bowling that is holding them back. Rahul Chahar and Kagiso Rabada are doing fine but the rest around them need to pull their act together.

Odeon Smith was billed as the next Andre Russell prior to the start of the tournament but 25 runs from the first six games and half a dozen wickets at a horrible economy rate of 11.86 runs suggest that those comparisons were way off.
