Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Betting Tips 05/05/2022

Teams Status

Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals occupy the seventh spot on the points table with eight points to their name after nine matches. As it has been well documented, their problem has been a lack of consistency — something signified by the fact that they have yet to put together back-to-back wins.

In their last game, they lost to Lucknow Super Giants by six runs. Although the eventual margin of victory may make it seem as if it was a close game, the truth is that Delhi were comfortably beaten. To their credit, they were chasing a massive 196 in that game.

While Delhi are languishing currently, one positive is that their net run rate is the best in the league. However, that advantage is useless until they climb up the table a bit.

David Warner, Prithvi Shaw and captain Rishabh Pant have carried the batting load for Delhi this season while Kuldeep Yadav has been their best bowler by far and sits second in the wickets chart.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

While consistency is a problem for Delhi, that’s no problem at all for Hyderabad. All their victories and defeats have come in bunches.

They started the tournament with two straight defeats, then won the next five before losing two consecutive. It means that they are currently in a spot of bother and will be fighting to avoid a hat-trick of defeats in this game.

To be fair to them though, their scores in both their latest defeats were 189 while chasing 203 and 195, which they couldn’t defend. Thus, their batters have not been at fault.

Their bowlers have definitely struggled, with Marco Jensen in particular having leaked 101 runs over his combined eight runs over the last two matches.

They also have a few injury problems, with T Natarajan a cause of concern although the exact nature of his discomfort, if any, is unclear. Washington Sundar has also reopened the webbing on his hand and is out, with Sushant Mishra signed as a replacement.
