Liverpool Form and Team News
Although their destiny is out of their hands as things stand, Liverpool have dug in repeatedly this season to keep the pressure on Manchester City. The Reds have already won two trophies this season, at Chelsea’s expense, but they will need some help from Aston Villa, coached by a Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard.
If Villa earns a draw and Liverpool win, the Reds will have their hands on another league title. The quadruple-chasing side have won all of their last seven meetings with Wolves and also have the most wins to nil at home for all Premier League sides this season. Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, and Mohammed Salah may not be fully fit to play against Wolves due to their recent injuries.
Wolves Form and Team News
Arguably the League’s most conservative sides, Wolves are poised to finish in the top ten for the third time in four seasons. They have endured a disappointing run of late and are winless in their last six matches (two losses and four draws). Although they have little to play for, one should never rule out the possibility of Wolves crashing the Liverpool party on Sunday.
Bruno Lage’s side have picked up more points away from home (27) than at home (24) and are only one of five teams to manage the feat. They have also managed to keep their opponents at bay while failing to score themselves in the first half of their last five league games away from home. They will be without Max Kilman, Romain Saiss, and Nelson Semedo for the trip to Anfield, as they are sidelined with injuries.
