Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Sixers Betting Tips 28/01/2022

Teams Status

Perth Scorchers

Perth Scorchers breezed through the round robin stage, winning 11 of its 14 games and taking the easiest route to the final by besting none other than Sydney Sixers in the playoffs Qualifiers.

In all, they have beaten the Sixers in all three of their meetings so far this season and have pretty much avenged last year’s finals defeat. It would of course mean nothing if they don’t assert their dominance in the decisive, winner-take-all game here.

Their cause has received a massive boost, with news being that superstar Mitch Marsh has recovered from his hamstring injury and could be available for contention.

But even without him, the Scorchers have plenty of firepower in the tank to trouble the Sixers.

Sydney Sixers

Sydney Sixers were incredible hot at the start of the tournament, cooled off for a while but found their feet again and managed to make the final again. Their being in this position despite injuries and Covid-caused problems speaks of their winning pedigree.

The Sixers made the final on their second attempt. After losing to Perth, they beat Adelaide Strikers in the Challenger in a fiercely contested game – thanks to Hayden Kerr’s heroics (98* in run chase) and qualified for their third straight final.

However, they have a few problems ahead of this game. Steve O’Keefe (calf), Jordan Silk (hamstring), Daniel Hughes (ankle) and captain Moises Henriques (calf) all have injury problems whereas Josh Philippe has the virus. They’ve again asked Cricket Australia for permission to use Steven Smith but it remains to be seen if they will have their wish on the second time of asking.
